Our story
a social campaign for a swinburne university student assingment

Heat Island Rescue is all about tackling the Urban Heat Island Effect in Australia. We're focusing on getting the word out to young adults, aged 18-30, to help them understand why it's a big deal. We're also trying to show the people who can make changes, like city planners and politicians, why they need to take action. Our goal is to make our cities cooler and more livable for everyone. Come join us in making a difference!

campaign goals

for increased awareness of the issue in the general australian youth

The general youth of Australia remains largely unaware of the Urban Heat Island Effect, yet it will significantly impact their futures and quality of life.

The Urban Heat Island Effect (UHIE) often flies under the radar when it comes to climate change discussions, but it’s actually a big deal that we can tackle right now. Through simple solutions like policy changes and urban design tweaks, we – that’s policymakers, urban planners, councils, and us regular folks – can make a real difference. Heat Island Rescue is all about shining a light on what’s causing UHIE and then showing young people like us how we can pitch in and help out.

Let’s work together to make our cities cooler and more sustainable!
